Williams: "I have good speed and I work hard. I'm very dedicated and have a lot of heart. I'm also very strong and have a lot of will. I really want to improve on all my stats from last year. I'm working on my explosiveness and pass routes."

Coach's Comments: "In seven years as head coach, I have placed 92 players in college and three players currently in the NFL," says head coach Rick Houchens. "In all my years and all of my players that I have been blessed to work with, Derrick Williams is without a doubt the greatest player that I have not only coached but also seen in my ten year high school coaching career."
Scouting Report: If there is a better player in the nation, he must be very special. With a very solid frame, Williams brings all the tools to the table with his fluid motion, bursts of speed, and mental ability to read the game. Offensively, he has the ability to play quarterback if necessary, but he is best in space with great hands and a niche for making the big play. He is most likely destined for stardom as a wide receiver, but he could easily play shut-down cornerback with great hips and ability to change direction like he is 5-9.
