| A quick first step and a good effort level coupled with Mingo's great frame, and it's easy to see a prospect that has yet to scratch the surface of his ability. He will learn to anticipate rather than react, and that will make him more dangerous as a defender, because he can be a step slow to the play if it's not in front of him. Great frame and terrific upside, he'll likely make the full time transition to defensive end in college- Scott Kennedy |
| Biography: |
| (Sr.) Mingo recorded 59 tackles with 4 for a loss, 7 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 7 fumble recoveries during the regular season/Class 5A First Team All-State selection
(Jr.) This was his first year of playing organized football and the sky is the limit with this athletic linebacker. He finished his junior season (12-1, round two of playoffs) with 66 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and six sacks; LSWA Class 5A All-State
Mingo: "I can get in the backfield. I read the plays well and I can get past the offensive player. I usually can overpower most guys. I play upbeat and fast and really get after it.
"But I still want to improve my form tackling and my technique. I want to hit better."
