| A long and athletic defender that will bulk up quickly, Myles is one of the top safeties in the state and region. Has the unique combination of coverage ability and and forcing ability. Understands the position and reads the QB exceptionally well. Good route reader and ends up in position to make plays, which he does. 2008: 80 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, one interception, two fumble recoveries. Myles was named AJC First Team All-State DB and Honorable Mention by the GSWA. He was named All-State by Georgia Magazine, Orlando Sentinel All-Southern Team (GA), Mobile Press Register's Super Southeast 120, and selected for the Under Armour All-Star Game.
2007: Darren Myles had eight rushing touchdowns and added one touchdown passing (1-2). Myles says he can bench 260-pounds, squat 550 and vertical jump 36-inches.
Myles reports a 3.2 core GPA and took the SAT on June 7. He is scheduled to take the ACT on June 14.
Myles: "I'm a good tackler and have great ball skills. I play smart and am very aggressive.
"I need to work on loosening my hips and change directions faster. I run a lot and do the hurdles and a lot of footwork drills. I do drills to help my back pedal and quickness."
