| Ultra-reliable during his career at USC, Smith is limited by his lack of size and speed. Yet with that his natural receiving abilities could help him develop into a productive third receiver. |
| Biography: |
Three-year starter and All-Conference selection as a senior after
leading the Trojans in receiving with 71/1,083/9. Junior numbers were
60/957/5.
Pos:
Productive and consistent pass-catcher with a well-rounded game.
Quickly releases off the line, finds the open space in the defense and
easily makes the reception in stride. Stays low exiting breaks and
gets separation from defenders. Extends to make the reception away
from his frame and displays good eye/hand coordination. Displays
outstanding body control making the acrobatic catch in contorted
positions. Smart, focused and gets past the sticks on third down.
Gives effort blocking downfield and gets results.
Neg:
Ran super-fast at the combine yet shows marginal playing speed and
cannot stretch the defense. |
