Clifford is a very good athlete that could play either safety position because he can support the run so well and he plays the pass even better. He has terrific instincts and anticipation, especially in playing against the pass. Clifford is a thief in the alley and has a good break on the ball. He is also good in the air and is not afraid to deliver a blow, whether it's to a receiver in the open field or a running back in the hole.

Biography:
As a junior, Clifford racked up an astonishing 147 tackles and six interceptions while on the way to garnering second team All State honors; he benches 300 pounds, squats 500 and has a 33-inch vertical jump.

An elite safety prospect. Will likely be one of the top five overall prospects in Ohio and possibly the top DB prospect in a strong year for talent and a very strong year for defensive backs in the state. Also gets some looks as a receiver in Colerain's option offense. He also plays basketball and averages 12 points per game, but plans to focus on football in college.

He reports a 2.6 core GPA and said he is still waiting for his test score. He will retake the test in October.

Clifford: "I get to the ball fast and tackle well. I'm physical and am a ball hog. I just go hard all the time. I want to improve my overall speed and footwork. I'd like to be a step ahead of the man I'm defending all the time."

Coaches Comment: "I think the thing that makes Eugene a little bit different is he has tremendous closing speed on the ball and the ball carrier. He has great innate speed if you timed him in the 40. But watching him close on the ball carrier and the ball is what makes him a little bit more special and different. I think he will be one of the best players in the country. He's got many options, but I imagine he'll stay close to home and his mom and his dad." Colerain Head Coach Kerry Coombs
