Deshawn is a face-up post player with range out to the three-point line. He can
take big men off of the dribble, but must work to improve his game with his back
to the basket. As he displays a willingness to bang around more down low, the
attention that he receives will increase. It seems as if that message has been
passed along, as he has really shown improvement in that area this summer. His
AAU performances thus far have garnered much praise and he is one of the hotter
prospects on the circuit. That carried over to an AWESOME showing at the Nike
All_American camp in Indianapolis. The Wolverines have noticed Sims' progress
and appears to have become a major target on their board..

Ultra versatile wing player that can play three positions on the basketball
court (1,2, and 3). Plays with edge and catches opponents by surprise with his
athleticism. His perimeter shot has improved a great deal and is threat to light
it up from deep in any game. We mentioned in previous primer reports that we
expected him to have a breakout summer and he has done just that. Exploded up
the charts with an impressive summer campaign (much like Sims). His showing
at the Adidas camp may have been the performance that cemented him as a top
target on the Wolverines list. Michigan leads big.

Ht: 6-5 Wt: 190
AAU Team: Dayton Airmen / Spiece Indy Heat
High School: Dayton Dunbar (Dayton, OH)
Cook is one of the summer's top performers thus far. After leading his high school
team to the state semis, he has teamed with Mike Conley and Greg Oden on Spiece
Indy Heat to form one of the power teams on the summer circuit. Despite teaming
with the two stars (whom already have chemistry because they play on the same
high school squad), Daequan hasn't had any trouble turning heads in his direction.
Great form on his jump shot and is capable of going on long hot streaks from behind
the arc. A scoring machine that can face up, post, pull-up, and dunk on and over
opponents. Physically overpowers many guards he faces. Without question one of
the top talents in the entire country. The top wing we've seen this summer regardless
of class. Michigan has show a great deal of interest in the Ohio product and the
Wolverines moved up his list with an impressive unofficial visit to Ann Arbor.
Grew up a North Carolina fan and they could be hard to beat if they show interest.
Still, the Wolverines have a very good shot.

Vince Baldwin of Prep Spotlight rates Brandon the top player at his position in
the 2006 class. One of only a few sophomores to be invited to the Nike All-American
camp. Very good size with outside range and the ability to guard anyone on the
court. Has already visited Michigan unofficially. Doesn't list Michigan in his
current top 5, but with his family ties in the Ann Arbor area the Wolverines shouldn't
be counted out just yet. Immediate jump (to the NBA) candidate.

AAU Team: Ohio Titans
High School: Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph (Cleveland OH)
Big time athlete with both perimeter and to-the-basket skills. Graceful on the
court and is a good shooter, but must continue to improve his already good off-of-the-dribble
game to take his play to the next level. Ranked in the top 2 in his Ohio class
IN FOOTBALL! Played receiver and runs a 4.58 forty. Unfortunately for those fans
of the gridiron, GBW had heard from good sources that Lighty planned to give up
the pigskin this season to concentrate solely on basketball. David later told
us that he's still considering playing football next year, but it still doesn't
look very likely. He will undoubtedly be in the running for the state's top hoopster
and may have to fight off another Michigan target, Daequan Cook, to claim that
title. By the way, most consider him a HUGE Michigan fan.

Smooth wing player that can score from anywhere
on the court. Excellent jump shooter with surprising ability to put the ball on
the floor. Not an ultra-athletic player, but that doesn't prevent him from scoring
in traffic. Has shown ability to spell the point position and is an unselfish
player. Also has an excellent mid-range game. AAU coach compares
him to former Michigan standout, Jalen Rose. Must continue to get bigger and stronger.

Long post player with inside/outside skills. Can
drain the jumper out to 18-feet, put the ball on the floor very well, and is extremely
active down low. Despite his size, he is one of the best rebounders in the country.
Michigan has already ventured down to Maryland to see him in action and assistant
Coach Chuck Swenson was seen watching him closely at the Charlie Weber tourney.
Needs to get stronger and improve his back to the basket game. Ranked a 5 star
prospect by TheInsidersHoops.com. Compared by some scouts to Demarr Johnson, Durant's

He is rated a 5 star player and the #1 PG in the 2006 class by theinsidershoops.com.
Named to the Adidas ABCD camp after his freshman year and is having a very good
summer with the New Orleans Jazz. Led his team to the final game in the Bob

Another jet quick PG on Michigan's 2006 checklist. He started the summer with
outstanding performances at both the Boo Williams and Charlie Weber tournaments.
He pairs an excellent jumpshot with outstanding dribbling skills. Any team that
decides to go full court press against him just opens themselves up for a fast
break opportunity. His floor game is excellent and he doesn't force anything on
the court. One of the best pure points in the class. Favors the ACC schools at
this point, but has started to list Michigan as of late.

Visited Michigan back in December and Michigan returned the favor with a visit
to Harvard Westlake during the eval period. The West Coast schools hold a comfortable
lead right now, but that hasn't dulled Michigan's interest. Rated a 3 star player
by TheInsidersHoops.com and the #31 player in California by Hoop Scoop. From theinsiders.com:
"A gifted young post, Stepheson has a chance to be among the top power forwards
in his class. With a great frame, and long arms, he looks like he'll add weight
and strength easily. He's got a nice touch to about 12-15 feet, with the ability

Tory Jackson was on fire at the Spiece Run N Slam tournament. The Saginaw product
is a clutch player will shooting range that extends beyond the three point line.
He can get his shot off of the dribble and has the ball on a string. Probably
more of a scorer than passer at this point, but he has the raw skill set to be
very effective at the next level. Led Saginaw BV to Class C state title this year
and is doing big things with the 17-and-under Michigan Mustangs squad this summer.
The top PG in the state and one of the top 1-guards in the country. He grew up
a Michigan fan, but look for interest in him from all over the country to really
pick up before the summer is over. Has already been offered by Michigan State.

David isn't flashy, but he can shoot, is tough, strong, and can defend. He is
one of those gritty players that does whatever it takes to help a team win, but
doesn't get the credit he deserves at the end of the night. Kool is a physical
guard that uses his build to his advantage both offensively (getting into the

favor style over substance won't like Kool's game, but those that know what it
takes to build a winning team will want him on their squad.

Some doubt TaJuan's college potetntial because of his height, but this dynamic
player performs much taller than he actually is. An explosive scorer, he presents
a change of pace option on both his high school and summer league teams. He
is one of the fastest players in the country with the ball in his hands and
does a good job of not getting his shot blocked when he takes it to the hole.
Few know how well he gets off the floor, but the young man has dunked the basketball!
To top it off, he is deadly from the outside. Michigan assistant Charles Ramsey
recruited former EMU Eagle and current Denver Nugget Earl Boykins, so Michigan
won't overlook TaJuan if he can play. And this young man CAN play. He is already
hearing from all of the mid-majors and is starting to get high major looks.
