Heuerman 'Loves' Rodriguez and UM

Naples (FLA) Barron-Collier tight end Jeff Heuerman is one of the top prospects in Florida, and he has put together an impressive offer list, but today he received an offer that certainly will impact his recruitment. Heuerman was offered by Michigan, where his father (Paul) played basketball several years ago. Find out what Heuerman had to say in this interview by Bill Greene.

Jeff Heuerman, Naples (FLA) Barron-Collier, is in the middle of a northern tour that will take him to Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State, over the next five days.

Today, Heuerman visited the Wolverines, where his father, Paul Heuerman, played basketball several years ago. An offer was extended by Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez, and to say Heuerman was impressed would be an understatement.

"I have to say the Michigan offer was sweet," the 6-foot-5, 240-pound, tight end exclaimed. "My dad and I met with Coach Rodriguez for about an hour, and he was a really good guy. I love the guy, to be honest."

"Their facilities are the best in the country, and the stadium is ridiculous," he continued. "I loved it there. My dad and I walked away with nothing but good vibes from the program."

Heuerman has previously stated that he will be closely following how teams use their tight end, and it will play a part in his decision.

"We spoke to Coach Rodriguez and he showed us how they will really use the tight end in their offense," he stated. "That was reassuring to both of us. I have to say that Michigan has a great atmosphere surrounding the program, and they have an incredible staff, all the way from the head coach down to the equipment manager. I couldn't have been more impressed."

As a junior, Heuerman caught 12 passes for 300 yards, with four touchdowns, in a run-oriented offense. He is known as a good blocker, and a very intelligent player.
