GoBlueWolverine caught up with Jay Hopson Michigan’s linebacker coach answered the question of the hour. Had he indeed accepted the defensive coordinator’s position at Memphis.
“Yea,” he replied when asked if the internet reports were true. “It was an honor and a privilege to coach for Coach Rodriguez and be a part of his staff. They are wonderderful coaches and even better men. They will make Michigan very proud.”
Hopson’s departure ends a two-year run in Ann Arbor that began with an interview to become the Wolverines’ defensive coordinator. Now he will head back close to his southern roots for an opportunity to man that post at Memphis.
