Cissoko Dismissed from Team
Posted Oct 27, 2009

Sophomore CB Boubacar Cissoko was kicked off Michigan's football team today for multiple violations of team rules.

Former Michigan Wolverine and Detroit Cass Tech coach Thomas Wilcher told the Detroit News that Boubacar Cissoko had been dismissed from the football team for repeatedly missing class, workouts, and study table.

"That's what he was suspended for in the first place," Wilcher said to The Detroit News regarding his former pupil. "He's upset. He's going to transfer as long as he can meet the requirements."

Wilcher also indicated that Cissoko had problems adjusting to the "social structure" at Michigan.

"He couldn't handle it," Wilcher said to the News. "He's always been a quiet kid. (But) he needs to do what needs to be done as a student-athlete. Nobody is bigger than the program."
