Swigert In Midst Of Busy Summer

An athlete from the Buckeye State, Bobby Swigert has been traveling heavily this summer from potential college destination to potential college destination. Michigan was one of his stops, and he came away with high marks for the Wolverines.
Bobby Swigert
may be a relatively unknown name in the 2010 recruiting class, but colleges across the nation have him high on their prospect board. Already holding offers from Michigan, Boston College, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Stanford and Wisconsin, among others, Swigert has made visits across the country and has more planned.
“This summer has been crazy,” Swigert told GoBlueWolverine. “I’ve had lots of visits already, and there are more places I’ve got to see. It’s been tough because I played summer baseball, and now I’ve got football starting up. I’ve visited Michigan, and camped at Ohio State and Notre Dame. I’m headed to Stanford pretty quickly, then stopping at Nebraska on the way back, and I have a trip planned to Boston College.”
With such a hectic schedule, many schools can be lumped into the same category, with similarities blended together, where a prospect forgets what is what. That isn’t the case for Swigert and Michigan. The Wolverines made a heavy impression on the Louisville, Ohio athlete.
“Michigan was amazing. I was impressed with everything I saw, like the facilities and the new indoor building … it was just amazing. Coach Rodriguez is one of the coolest coaches I’ve met. And the academic advisor (Shari Acho) explained everything really well.”
With such a glowing recollection, it’s no wonder the Wolverines are in such a strong standing with Swigert, even though he hasn’t officially narrowed down his list.
“If I was to narrow down my list, Michigan would be in there. They are definitely one of the top contenders.”
While Swigert is working on narrowing down his list, there is still no rush on his decision timeline.
“After the Boston College visit, I will probably take a couple official visits. I’m not really in any kind of rush to get a decision done."
However, he adds, "If I see a school that I know I want to commit to, I’ll commit.”
When that time comes, the Maize and Blue will certainly have more than a decent shot at landing Swigert.
“I need to get out and see more places and compare, but I’m sure Michigan will be right at the top.”
