There are a few subtle changes near the top of the current Scout.com Top 100. Harrison Barnes locked up the No. 1 spot but Brandon Knight is on his heels. The big mover was the fabulous one -- Mr. Fab Melo -- into the No. 5 position. Michigan commit Evan Smotrycz along with a number of other Wolverine targets like Trey Zeigler and Casey Prather crack the top 60.

Scout.com 2010 Top 100

It’s a holiday weekend, so we’ll keep it short and sweet.

It’s refreshing to know that Scout.com’s two top-rated players in the Class of 2010 – Harrison Barnes and Brandon Knight – are amongst a handful of most dedicated players when it comes to improving their games. They truly set the tone with their work ethic and individual improvement.

As we head into the all-important July evaluation period, we thought it was time to freshen up the rankings and open up another window into the rising senior class. While Barnes and Knight reign supreme, former No. 1 Tristan Thompson checks in at No. 3.

Jared Sullinger, the most productive big man in this class, continues to cement his elite status at No. 4. Our big riser this time around is Fab Melo. Before succumbing to injury at NBA Camp, Melo distinguished himself as one of the most talented big men in his class. He’s also the guy we know least about when it comes to the Top 25 so we’ll be watching his progress closely.

Rounding out the Top 10 are five familiar faces. Jereme Richmond, Kyrie Irving, Josh Smith and Will Barton join forces with Josh Selby who makes a return to Top 10 status after a hiatus this spring.

This time around we’ve extended our list by 25 slots and now have a complete Top 100. We’ve sprinkled in some new faces and are anxious to monitor the progress of players like Tony Mitchell, R.J. Slawson and Evan Smotrycz to name a few of the newcomers.
