After Spring and many summer University camps it is becoming apparent that the Sunshine State is…
Torrian Wilson visits MI for "House of Pain"
Fortunately, Wilson has been showing plenty of interest in the Wolverines, often putting them at the top of his list of schools. After flying up to Ann Arbor in April to visit family and to take in the spring game, Wilson recently found himself back in Michigan – and not just to see U-M again, or to visit his A2-area family members.
"I was up there (in Michigan) for three weeks, training with Dr. Ping in the House of Pain," Wilson told GoBlueWolverine, with a few others guys from different places."
As you can see, Wilson's trip to Michigan this time around was strictly business. The House of Pain he's referring to is a workout facility in Saline, a place normally occupied from January to April with college football players that are working out in preparation for the NFL combine. Wilson says the workouts were hard and beneficial.
"It was crazy. My workouts consisted of swimming, running hills, ju jitsu, weight lifting, and some other stuff. I feel good though."
Once his daily workout regimen concluded, Wilson had a chance to visit some family, and sneak in for unofficial visit to Michigan.
"I showed up during camp week. Coach Hopson and coach Frey knew I was coming, but coach Rodriquez was surprised to see me. He was happy though."
Wilson's mother and older brother accompanied him during the visit. While his mother has been on campus a few times, this was his brother's first time to see what Michigan offers in comparison to the schools in the hot-hot-Sunshine State.
"He enjoyed the visit," Torrian said of his brother. "He's cool with it. He was with me on my visit to Florida, but he's going to support whichever school I choose."
Wilson said the Michigan coaches never pressured him to commit, but they let him know how they feel about him.
"They want me to commit, and they're hoping I pick Michigan. They told me I can make an impact early if I keep working hard and play physical."
The interest from both sides is obviously mutual; it's something Wilson thinks will never change.
"I've got a good feeling about Michigan. They're one of my top schools, and that won't change. With me being up there for a longer period of time, I feel like it was a better visit than my first one. I got to see everything."
One school that Wilson already knows all about is the hometown Miami Hurricanes, a school that regularly hand picks Northwestern's best players. Wilson has heard all the rumors about his recruitment with regards to the Hurricanes.
"I like Miami, I enjoy talking to the coaching staff, they me a lot of love. They've been recruiting me hard from the time they offered me." However he insists, "I have not committed there, or anywhere else."
While the battle rages on for Torrian Wilson's services, it will be awhile before the final verdict is reached.
"I'm going to take all five official visits, and then make a decision. I do have the option of graduating early, but I'm not sure of what I want to do yet."
The schools that make his top five will receive official visits. His current top five looks like this: "Michigan, Stanford, Miami, Alabama, and Florida International."
Wilson says he currently stands at 6-feet, 4-inches, and weighs a healthy 290 pounds.
Where will he end up weighing in, and when? GBW will keep you informed right as things happen.
