Michigan came away from today's spring game with another verbal commitment in the class of 2010.…
Hopkins blown away by Michigan atmosphere
After he and his father spent Friday with the team, he said, "It was an easy decision. I wanted to do it last night, but I thought about it over night."
"The coaches are just normal people, down to earth, not above you."
"And the atmosphere blew any other atmosphere away."
And it's not as if Hopkins didnt have many schools to compare to: "I've been to Texas A&M, Nebraska Alabama, Texas, Texas Tech ... the atmosphere here at Michigan blew me out of the water."
As far as the position he'll play at Michigan, he said: "I will be a true tailback ... I don't want to be a FB and they said I wouldn't be.
"They told me I'm a lot like Brandon Minor and the other big backs they've played in their system."
Hopkins' stated measurements of 6-0, 210 don't do him justice - he looks more 6-2, 220 ... but he said:
"I have the speed and quickness to be effective."
But what it really came down to .. he repeated:
"The big-time facilities I've seen everywhere, but the atmosphere here couldn't be beat."
