Michigan Targets Florida Receiver

With four commitments at the wide receiver position already, the Wolverines are still looking at some guys possibilities for the slot receiver spot. This time they’ve gone to Daytona Beach, Fla. to evaluate a prospect.
O.J. Ross
is a name that’s fairly new to the U-M scene in 2010 recruiting. However, that hasn’t stopped him from showing up at 23 for Scout.com’s Florida pre-spring hot 100. It’s clear Ross has the confidence in his game that’s gotten him to where he’s at now.
“Personally I think I’m the go-to receiver,” Ross declared to
GoBlueWolverine
. “I do everything. I can get a big advantage on people. My junior season went better than I thought it would. I had like 34 catches, 693 yards, and like 10 touchdowns."
Ross is the perfect slot-size, telling GBW, "Right now I’m at 5’10”, 176, and I run a 4.36 40.”
In case some question whether that size and speed could be a touch exaggerated, everything was measured at a recent Scout.com combine, including his speed being laser timed.
With such eye popping numbers, it’s no wonder several schools are lining to eye the self described big play receiver. One of those schools that has gone ahead and pulled the trigger on an offer for the speedster is the Michigan Wolverines.
“Yes sir (they offered me). It was definitely exciting. I’m looking at them. I like that school. I also have offers from Arkansas and FIU. Florida is really interested in me too.”
While Ross is a man of little words, Michigan fans shouldn’t fret on seemingly zero elaboration. One of the things that Ross became very animated about was the fact that he’ll go anywhere, and distance isn’t the factor many believe it could be.
“Oh no, no, no," he emphasized. "Distance isn’t a factor.”
