ScoutTV: Thomas Gordon Senior Video

Michigan commitment Thomas Gordon had to prove to people that he could play big time football. A quarterback out of necessity early on at Cass, "Flash" developed into one of the top signal callers in the city. His athleticism is obvious in this video for those wondering if he can make the transition to safety at Michigan.

Thomas Gordon can do many things on the field. He has been a quarterback the last three years at Cass Tech, but his senior season was his first as a safety.

At Michigan, there is talk that he could play some offense, but he primarily will be a free safety. From this tape and the several times I've seen him in person, I can say that he has the straight line speed to cover ground and run down ball carriers.

He has pretty good instincts and natural ball skills. Where he needs work is in his technique. He hasn't played much defensive back and is not super comfortable in man to man coverage. He does have athleticism, a good, solid build and above all, good football smarts and toughness.
