Michigan First Up For Witty

The Wolverines are first up to bat for the Sunshine State wide receiver. What did Witty say about the upcoming visit? Who’s he bringing with him? What’s he looking for?
Adrian Witty
, the star receiver for his Deerfield Beach High School team, got a coveted offer from the Wolverines in the earlier portions of December. He since rewarded the Maize & Blue with the first chance to woo the youngster to sign on to play at the next level.
“I’m excited about it because it’s my first time on a college visit and my first time out of the Glades,” Witty told GBW. “I never thought it would happen.”
Witty won’t be the only Deerfield Beach product in Ann Arbor this weekend. He’ll be bringing along teammate, friend, and fellow Michigan target
Denard Robinson
. It’s something that Witty is looking forward to, and is something that helps the Maize & Blue chances in landing quite a package.
“That’s a real good thing too, if we were both to go there, at least we’d know each other. We wouldn’t feel left out.”
Though the Wolverines are the first to receive a visit from Witty, it’s something he insists that shouldn’t be looked into too much. A leader hasn’t jumped out for Witty, as he hasn’t had the chance to take his visits yet.
“I’m not too sure yet (about a leader), but I got offered also by Kansas State and FIU. It is what is because I don’t really know too much about them. All three of them sound good in one way or another.”
On his visit to Ann Arbor there are several things that Witty is going to be checking on his list.
“What the school and the town are actually like. I really want to get a feel for it. I’m going where I feel like I need to go. The atmosphere, the way of the school, the people around. If you’re going to be there, you have to at least get along with the people around you. I want to fit in like I fit in here.”
Some may fret at the thought that a Floridian would take his visit in the middle of winter to a school in the north. However, Witty is quite adamant that it’s something that everyone will have to get used to at some point in time.
“It doesn’t mean anything to me. Sooner or later, no matter where you go, you’re going to have to experience that, especially if you plan on going to the big leagues. You’re going to play in that type of weather and so forth.”
