Starting with 2:22 to go in the 3rd quarter, Michigan outscored Wisconsin 27-6, and pulled out the game, 27-25.
Second Half
The drives - the short version - just the drives.
Michigan took the kickoff and went three and out., then punted to the Wisconsin 17.
WIsconsin got 4 first downs, then punted for a touchback.
Then Michigan went on a scoring drive. Starting at their 20, Michigan:
-- got a first down on a 13 yard pass to
Greg Mathews
to the U-M 33.
-- got a first down on a 4th and 1 run by
Kevin Grady
to the U-M 42.
-- got a first down on a 16 yard pass to Mathews to the Wisconsin 37.
-- got a first down on 3 rund by Grady and
Sam McGuffie
to the Wisconsin 26.
-- scored on a 26 yard TD strike to
Kevin Koger
at the 2:22 mark.
Wisconsin 19, U-M 7
Wisconsin took the kickoff to their 39, but went three and out, and punted to the U-M 12.
Fourth Quarter
U-M went 3 and out and punted to the Wisconsin 44.
Wisconsin went 3 and out and punted to the U-M 15.
Then Michigan went on another scoring drive. Starting at their 15, Michigan:
-- got a first down on a 14 yard pass to Mathews at the U-M 30.
-- got a first down on a roughing the passer call to the U-M 40.
-- got a first down on an 8 yard Threet run to the Wisconsin 45.
-- got a first down on an 11 yard pass to
Brandon Minor
to the Wisconsin 34.
-- scored on a 34 yard Minor run at the 10:27 mark.
Wisconsin 19, U-M14
-- On the next series, Wisconsin started at their 20. On the first play,
Johnny Thompson
picked off a pass at the WIsconsin 25 and scored at the 10:24 mark. Two point conversion failed.
Michigan 20, Wisconsin 19
WIsconsin went 3 and out, and punted to the U-M 23.
Then Michigan went on another scoring drive. Starting at their 23, Michigan:
-- on the first play, Threet ran 58 yards to the WIsconsin 19.
-- got a first down on a 10 yard run by Sam McGuffie to the Wisconsin 5.
-- scored on 2 more runs by McGuffie, a the 5:11 mark.
Michigan 27, Wisconsin 19
Wisconsin took the kickoff at their 29 and got 4 first downs, then turned it over on downs at the U-M 5 at the 1:42 mark.
U-M went 3 and out, and punted to the WIsconsin 36 at the 1:19 mark.
Then Michigan went on the ffinal scoring drive. Starting at their 36, Wisconsin:
-- got 3 first downs, then scored with :13 seconds to go.
-- Wisconsin went for 2, and got-ot-but-had-an-illegal-receiver ... and then threw an incompletion.
Michigan 27, Wisconsin 25
