All-Big Ten Teams Announced

The coaches and media 2002 All-Big Ten Football Teams were announced yesterday, Tuesday, November 26.

Wolverines making the First Teams:

First Team on both coaches and media teams:
-- Senior Linebacker Victor Hobson
-- Sophomore cornerback Marlin Jackson
-- Sophomore offensive guard David Baas

First Team - coaches
-- Junior offensive tackle Tony Pape

Wolverines making the Second Teams:

Second Team on both coaches and media teams:
-- Senior tight end Bennie Joppru
-- Sophomore punter Adam Finley

Second Team - coaches
-- Sophomore wide receiver Braylon Edwards

Second Team - media
-- Senior defensive end Dan Rumishek

Receiving honorable mention:
-- Junior defensive tackle Grant Bowman
-- Senior free safety Cato June
-- Junior defensive end Shantee Orr
-- Senior fullback B.J. Askew

All totaled, Michigan placed four players on first teams, and four on second teams. As a comparison:
- Big Ten co-champ Iowa had ten coaches' first teamers, and two second-teamers.
- Big Ten co-champ Ohio State had five coaches' first teamers, and nine second-teamers.
