The explosive cornerback from Plantation, Florida updates GBW on his recruitment. What is he looking for? Will Michigan receive an official visit? Has he narrowed his list?

Plantation High School has a secondary that will make most of the Sunshine State's high school teams quiver. Josh Robinson (5-10, 180, 4.5) and his teammate Brandon McGee lock down both sides of the field for Plantation.

GoBlueWolverine spoke yesterday to perhaps the lesser-know of the two, Josh Robinson.

"I’m very fast. I like to make plays," Robinson said to GBW. “I’m very explosive, making plays whenever I get the chance, and if I don’t get the chance I’ll try to take it."

Michigan has shown interest in both McGee and Robinson, and have extended offers.

“I’m up to 16 offers," said Robinson, "and Michigan has offered me as defensive back.”

The offer definitely has the youngster thinking, especially about Michigan’s tradition.

“It’s a big football school, that’s the main thing. A real big football school, and they get a lot of publicity."

The blazer has two schools that are out in front right now, but the Wolverines aren’t far behind.

"I plan to take one of my officials there (to Michigan); I just haven’t gotten it set up yet.”

The top two for Robinson are Central Florida and South Florida. However, he said, “I don’t really have a top five. It’s just schools I’ve seen and been impressed with. UCF and USF are the only two schools that I’ve seen. And the others – it’s not like they’re behind the eight ball, I just haven’t gotten a chance to see then."

As far as the summer has gone, Robinson said, “No camps really. I went up to USF and UCF again. I really have been just working and doing my exercises when I get the chance.”

It appears that during the fall, when officials can take place, is when the iron will be hot to strike for other schools, with Michigan being one of them. And schools such as Florida and South Carolina have offered him as well.

And as far as a timetable, he said, "When the time seems right when I’m ready to commit ... that’s when I’ll do it.”

What are the major factors in his decision?

"Academics is a major key; the main thing is that I graduate with a degree. I want early playing time too: even though I want that degree, I want to play. And a well disciplined and organized team and the coaches being around for a while and not changing.”

With the Maize and Blue just finishing their coaching change, stability shouldn't be a problem for Michigan. And the 'get a degree' part is there. Time will tell whether the U-M CB depth chart suits him ... and how he feels about going North.
