and
Max Pacioretty
were awarded CCHA weekly honors for their performance against then No. 1
Miami
this past weekend in Oxford, Ohio. In the two-game series, the pair of Wolverines combined for four goals and four assists.
Skating with a 2-0 lead in the first period of the Friday night 4-2 win, Kolarik was credited with an assist on the Wolverines final two goals. Blocking a shot in the defensive zone, Kolarik grabbed the puck and found
Kevin Porter
releasing up ice for the breakaway goal. Then on the power play, Kolarik was credited with the second assist on Pacioretty's goal.
Pacioretty spun around in front of Miami goalie Jeff Zatkoff and backhanded the puck into the net to give the Wolverines their final goal of the night.
Kolarik added a goal and two assists on Saturday night. Pacioretty added two goals and an assist on Saturday night.
After falling behind 2-1 through the first period, Pacioretty scored his second goal of the weekend just seconds into the period. Pacioretty intercepted a stray pass in the RedHawks defensive end and snapped it into the top corner.
Kolarik made it 3-3 later in the period. Kolarik circled out around the circles and then flipped a shot through traffic for his 20th goal of the season. He then assisted on Kevin Porter's 4-on-4 goal with a backhand pass through traffic to Porter's waiting stick on the right post.
Pacioretty then added one final goal from the right boards. Pacioretty just threw it at the net from an awkward angle and caught Zatkoff too far off the near side of the post.
Michigan
returns to the ice this weekend to skate in a two-game series with Lake Superior State at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor.
