Pacioretty Named CCHA Rookie of the Week

Freshman icer Max Pacioretty was named the CCHA Rookie of the Week earlier this week for his two-game performance against the Ohio State Buckeyes last weekend. Pacioretty recorded two goals and an assist in the weekend split, including the game-winning goal on Saturday night.

Freshman forward Max Pacioretty was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week earlier this week for his efforts against the Ohio State Buckeyes last weekend at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor.

Pacioretty recorded the primary assist on Michigan's first goal of the night in Friday nights 3-2 loss to the Buckeyes, and, on Saturday, scored two goals, including the eventual game-winner, to finish the weekend with a 2-1-3 line.

It's Pacioretty's second CCHA Rookie of the Week honors of the season. Pacioretty also hauled in the accolades for his play in the Wolverines two-game sweep of Lake Superior State.

Pacioretty was a first round draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Michigan's final games before the holiday break come with this weekends home-and-home series with the No. 18 Bowling Green State Falcons. Start time on Friday night is scheduled for 7:05 at the BGSU Ice Arena. Saturday night the puck will drop at 7:35 p.m. at Michigan's Yost Ice Arena.
