Jersey Tight End Talks Michigan

Wayne, New Jersey tight end/defensive end Chris Pantele is starting to pile up offers from major college programs ... including the Michigan Wolverines. GoBlueWolverine spoke to Pantele about his recruiting process.

Chris Pantele (6-5, 230) is a two way tight end/defensive end prospect from Wayne New Jersey who recorded over 100 tackles his junior season, and is garnering scholarship offers as a result. GoBlueWolverine spoke to Pantele Tuesday night.

What would you say are your top offers?

"Virginia, Michigan, Boston College, Northwestern, Michigan State, and Maryland."

When did you get your Michigan offer?

"Michigan offered me about three weeks ago."

What position is Michigan, or other schools, recruiting you as?

"Both ... I'm open to both tight end and defensive end, but I prefer playing at tight end."

Are there any schools you want to hear from that you haven't?

"Rutgers, and Penn State."

Is distance from homs a factor?

"I don't mind traveling too far ... Michigan isn't too far. I had a friend of mine who visited Michigan State and he said it was like an eight or nine hour drive."

Are you going to take any summer visits or attend any camps?

"I've been to Boston College and Virginia before, and Ukon. I'm going to do a camp at Boston College ... we'll do that camp as a team."

Do you have a top 3-4-5?

"Michigan, Boston College, Virginia, Northwestern, and Maryland or Michigan State."

What is your decision timetable?

"I'm not sure right now. I'm going to wait and see what offers are still coming in. I want to take the process as it comes and take at least three of my officials."

As a junior, Pantale registered 110 tackles, four sacks and three interceptions earning him first team All-Conference honors. He also caught 18 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns.
