GoBlueWolverine spoke Sunday to Chantilly, Vir. signalcaller Mike Glennon, who parlayed an impressive spring combine into multiple scholarship offers, including from Michigan.
GoBlueWolverine
spoke Sunday afternoon to signalcaller
Mike Glennon
(6-6, 195, 4.8) from Chantilly, Virginia.
Michigan has offered you a scholarship?
"Yes sir. It was right after the Penn State Nike Camp. Coach Loeffler gave his number to my dad; so my dad called Coach Loeffler, who gave us Coach Carr's numbers. I called Coach Carr and he offered me a Michigan scholarship."
Are you planning on taking visit to U-M?
"Yes. I think I'm going to try to go up next weekend .. not this one, but next, the weekend of the 23rd."
Will you make any other stops on the trip?
"Purdue and Michigan State."
Glennon was just at FSU for an unofficial visit, and he's also been to NC-State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Duke and Maryland.
Talk about your interest in Michigan.
"I've always followed Michigan. It's their tradition. And Coach Loeffler has a history of producing NFL quarterbacks. Of course, Michigan is always winning, they're always in contention for a National Championship."
What schools have offered you now?
"Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Duke, Michigan, Miami, Florida State, LSU, Rutgers, Illinois, Purdue, and Michigan State."
Do you have a top 3-4-5 schools?
"I haven't narrowed it down ... I will be doing that this summer as I take my visits."
What is your decision timetable?
"It'll just be whenever I feel comfortable with a school mainly. But I think I'll probably take just two or three official visits, early in the fall ... and then make my decision in late September or early October."
Your brother plays quarterback at Virginia Tech ... what are your thoughts about staying close to home versus going further away?
"It'd be good to be close to home, but my parents say don't worry about location, they'll come to my games wherever I go."
As a junior, the slender slinger completed 60 percent of his passes for 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns, with five interceptions.
Glennon also carries a 3.65 GPA.
