New Jersey Linebacker Marcus Witherspoon told GoBlueWolverine on Sunday that he is visiting Michigan for the third time this week. He'd previously said the Wolverines were his solid leader. Have things changed for him ... or have they actually remained the same?
New Jersey Linebacker
Marcus Witherspoon
(6-2, 210) from Abescon Holy Spirit received a U-M Signing Day offer, then visited Michigan for the April 6 spring practice with his coach (for GBW interview click
here
), and returned for the Wolverines' spring game at which time, he told
GoBlueWolverine
, he wanted to commit (for GBW interview click
here
).
Now, Witherspoon told GBW on Sunday afternoon, he is about to visit Ann Arbor for a third time.
Are you going to be visiting Michigan in the first week of June?
"I'm coming up Friday and staying the whole weekend. My dad is coming with me."
Are you going to any other camps this summer?
"Nah."
Do you have any summer visits planned?
"Florida."
Do you have a top 3-4-5?
"They have all been erased for the moment. I want to take all my visits first ... I want to stay open to all schools."
GBW pointed out to Marcus that this looks like a significant changes from his earlier statement that U-M led with Florida being the school with a chance to catch the Wolverines ... his response:
"My views about Michigan have
not
changed."
"However Coach Szabo advises me to take my time and be sure about what I want to so, and I am doing that."
So it looks like Marcus has likely slowed his recruiting process down some, because our final question was:
When are you looking to make your final decision?
His answer:
"During the season or after."
Witherspoon made 90 tackles as a junior (for his junior film, click
here
), despite playing most of the season with a shoulder separation. For his efforts he was named First Team All State.
Other schools that may get a look from Witherspoon include Tennessee and Miami.
