Michigan's fourth verbal commitment, Crown Point Indiana offensive guard Kurt Wermers, talks to GoBlueWolverine about what led to his decision to end his recruiting process and commit to the Wolverines yesterday (Thursday).
Crown Point, Indiana, offensive guard
Kurt Wermers
(6-5, 275) committed to the Wolverines yesterday (Thursday). GoBLueWolverine reached him this (Friday) afternoon to talk to him about it.
When did you make your decision to pick Michigan?
"I decided and called Coach Carr yesterday."
How do you feel about it?
"I'm just stoked about it. It feels really good to have decide finally. And that the recruiting process is in a practical sense over for me."
What was it that lead you to choose Michigan?
"Well I sat down with my family and head coach this week and we talked about my visits and the coaches and players. Michigan has everything I was looking for: great coaches, players, resources, academics and more."
"I really enjoyed all my visits to Michigan (he made four) and I like the coaches a lot. Its good to hear how fondly the players talk about the coaches."
What are your summer plans now that you have decided so early?
"I will probably make a trip up to Ann Arbor sometime this summer to talk with the coaches again and hopefully to get to know some of the players better."
Are you still planning on attending the Michigan camp?
"Yeah I am for sure going for one day but I'm not sure which day yet. I'm still trying to figure that out."
