icer
Tim Cook
has been named as Michigan’s representative on the CCHA Scholar-Athlete team for the second straight year. Cook, scheduled to graduate this year with a degree in History, is now eligible for the CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award given at the CCHA Awards Banquet on March 15 in Detroit.
To be named to the CCHA Scholar-Athlete team, the player must maintain a 3.25 GPA through the fall term of the selection year. After using the said criteria to trim the list of options, coach Red Berenson and the teams’ faculty athletic representative select U-M’s representative on the team.
Cook has played in 31 of the Wolverines 36 games in 2006-07. Shifting back and forth between forward and defense, Cook has registered a new career high in both points (4) and assists (4) during his final year in Ann Arbor. He’s also tied his career high in +/- rating with a +7 as the Wolverines enter the CCHA Tournament.
Tim Cook was also named to the Academic All-Big 10 team in 2004-05 and 2005-06. He also has received the Michigan Athletic Academic Achievement Award in 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06.
Cook and the rest of the Wolverines begin postseason play with a second round best-of-three series against the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Friday night at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor. Tickets are still available at www.MGoBlue.com.
