Wide receiver John Goodman from Ft. Wayne, Ind., Bishop Dwenger had an excellent Army Combine this past January ... and GoBlueWolverine isn't the only ones who likes his potential ... he received a Michigan offer on Signing Day.

GoBlueWolverine spoke Wednesday afternoon with the mother of wide receiver John Goodman (6-2+, 180) from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Bishop Dwenger, and to John himself.

Is it as wintry in Ft Wayne as it is in Michigan?

Mrs. Goodman: "Well, I'm a teacher here and we enjoyed staying home today with a snow day, but John still had basketball practice."

Did John get offered by Coach Carr on Signing Day?

Mrs. Goodman: "Yes he did. He's very fortunate."

And when John got out of practice, he added, "Coach Debord text messaged me and said to call him Signing Day morning. So I call him and he handed the phone to Coach Carr -- and Coach Carr official ly offered me a scholarship to Michigan. It was really exciting!" And is John coming to Michigan's Junior Day Saturday?

"Yes. He and his dad, and another player, and his dad."

John: "Yeah, the snow has stopped here already, the streets are clear, so we'll get there fine. Mick Mentzger (a 6-4, 260 pound defensive end) is going with me I believe."

We saw John at the Army Combine, and he did very well there. He's fast!

Mrs. Goodman: "Yes, thanks. And he had a good Michigan Camp week this past summer. He really enjoyed that camp, and Michigan got to see him in action there."

Regarding his other offers:

John: "I had Purdue and Ball State offers before, and Iowa has also offered me now. Some other Big Ten schools have told my coach that offers were on the way -- Michigan State, and Minnesota."

Regarding his timetable:

"I really haven't seen the schools in depth yet. And my favorite schools are the same - Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State. I'll see who offers me, and go take some visits to see the schools."

"I plan to make my decision before my senior season."

Here is what GoBlueWolveirne said about John at the Army Junior Combine (or click here):

A guy to keep your eye on from the Army National Junior Combine is wide receiver John Goodman from Ft. Wayne, Ind., Bishop Dwenger.

Goodman is a fast if a little bit slender 6-foot-2, 180 pound receiver who looked good running his 40 (we'd say a 4.5) and shuttle, and caught the ball well in the QB-WR-DB drills.

GoBlueWolverine spoke to Goodman, who told us:

"I have offers from Purdue and Bolling Green so far (note: now you can add Michigan to the list)."

As far as his favorite schools, he said:

"Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State."

And he also added:

"I plan to go to the Michigan and Notre Dame camps this summer."
