Dave Molk may well be underrated as Scout.com's no. 3 center prospect in the country. This guy has a supreme confidence -- he told us that he plans to come in as a freshman and compete for the center position.

His Recruiting Story
We first heard about Dave Molk when he attended the Notre Dame camp, and we wondered, "Who is this little offensive lineman who is saying he was bored at this camp because he had no competition?" Then came the Michigan Camp, and there one morning was Molk: nondescript looking at 6-1, 260. But when he got on the field, he gave the best OL performance in OL-DL one-on-ones we've ever seen, not just holding out the D-linemen for the "2-second-win," but holding them out completely, to the end -- including highly regarded DL
Josh Brent
. Immediately after camp came a Michigan offer for Molk. He didn't commit to the Wolverine immediately, but six weeks later he attended the end-of-July Michigan Junior Day. As he told us on the WTKA Signing Day show, that visit did it for him. He committed to the Wolverines on August 2nd, Michigan's 9th commitment.
GoBlueWolverine Commentary:
Molk is not big, but at the offensive center position that is not necessarily the most important thing -- leverage is the key, and a shorter guy can actually have the advantage. Molk is exceptionally strong -- and the guy just has 'the knack'. This was again demonstrated in the post-season East-West All Start game in Orlando, Florida. During the week of practice, word out of the East practice sessions was that the top offensive performer on the whole team was ... Molk. Dave may well be underrated as Scout.com's #3 center prospect in the country. This guy has a supreme confidence -- he told us that he plans to come in as a freshman and compete with Dave Moosman for the center position. After watching Molk for his senior season, we say - don't count him out. And one more thing -- his mother has informed us that his dad grew late, and she promised us Dave would be 6-3 before he stopped growing!
