One of the top players in the nation next year will be Pennsylvania quarterback and all-around athlete Terrelle Pryor. Perhaps this should be rephrased. One of the top players in the nation next year for both football AND basketball will be Pennsylvania quarterback, athlete, and Jim Jones-esque baller, Terrelle Pryor. GBW interviewed the top junior prospect.

Pryor hails out of Jeanette high school in southwest Pennsylvania. He is likely a 5* player in football and is already rated a 5* prospect in basketball. On the basketball court, Pryor does it all. “I play everywhere on the court,” he told GoBlueWolverine. That could be taken in two different contexts and they would both be true – he is utilized at all the different positions on the court and you can find him everywhere on the court. On the gridiron, Terrelle has established himself as a dominating athlete. This past year at quarterback, Pryor threw and ran for around 3600 yards combined. Next year he wants to top that. “I want to win a state championship and throw and run for over 2000 yards each.” Certainly, an attainable goal considering his team is only losing one wide receiver to graduation.
Pryor at 6’5 and 210lbs already runs a 4.4 40. As a sophomore, he played as a wide receiver, but last year he started at safety in addition to playing quarterback. Terrelle describes himself as a physical and aggressive player who has a great motor and is a true playmaker with the ball in his hands. Although he doesn’t base his game off of any one individual, many people who have watched Terrelle play compare his playing style to former Texas Longhorn and current Tennessee Titan quarterback
Vince Young
.
Off the field and court, Pryor is a very relaxed and laid back individual. It is evident that he is humble and reserved as well. Some recruiting websites have recently quoted Pryor as having a top four schools that he is interested in, but he firmly denies that claim, instead stating, “I don’t have a top anything. I’m just trying to take my time and enjoy playing ball.” In addition, Terrelle is in no rush to make a decision for what school he wants to attend. “I want to play both basketball and football in college. I’m also looking for a school with good coaches that I feel comfortable with. I’ll also be looking at academics and I want to play early.”
After watching tapes of Terrelle, GBW believes that he’d make an early impact at many different positions at the next level, but with his body and speed, he may have the greatest upside defensively as a rushing defensive end and offensively, either at quarterback or wide receiver. Terrelle did indicate that he wants to play quarterback in college and that he is wants to improve in the various quarterback techniques.
Although he doesn’t have any immediate plans, Terrelle would like to take some unofficial visits and attend some camps during the summer. Two visitors took trips to Jeannette high school last week that Terrelle noticed. “Scot Loeffler came to one of my practices this past week. Coach Loeffler and Coach Lloyd Carr also watched one of my basketball games last week.”
Pryor, who holds a Michigan offer, will be nationally courted next year in both basketball and football. GBW will bring you more information on Pryor as the year goes along.
