Profile
Four-star offensive lineman (ranked No. 18 by Scout.com) Jaivorio Burkes (6-6, 312, 5.4) from Phoenix Moon (Ariz.) has an official visit scheduled with Nebraska on November 25. Burkes says he will also definitely visit Michigan in either November or December. He also likes Tennessee and Arizona State. All of his favorites have offered and he has over 40 offers total.
"Nebraska is recruiting me the hardest," Burkes said. "They call and email me all the time. I hear from coach Bill Busch (special teams coordinator and safeties coach) a lot. He's a good guy and says that I'd be a good addition to their o-line. I've been pretty impressed with them this season. They've played well. I was supposed to be at the Nebraska/Texas game this weekend, but couldn't make it. It was a great game."
Burkes says he will go to the Arizona State/Washington State game unofficially on November 11.
"I haven't really been following college football too much this year," Burkes said. "I'm too busy with school and my team."
Another school that has impressed Burkes is Michigan. "They have a great team," he said. "They have good tradition and I like how good their offense is. I love pass blocking and they do a lot of that. They have great coaches too."
Burkes also plays defense for his school and has had six sacks in nine games. His team is 1-8.
"I just want to feel comfortable," Burkes said. "Big city, small town…it doesn't matter. I'll know once I'm there. It'll be a feeling and I'll either have it or I won't."
He reports a 2.6 core GPA and is waiting on his SAT results from the October 14 test.
GoBlueWolverine note: Burkes needs the score, whatever it is, to begin taking official visits.
