Format Change
One significant change to the list is the addition of the "target level" and "interest" indexes to each profile. Target level refers to our OPINION on where each respective player stands on the current recruiting list based on all of the information gathered up to this point. Interest refers to the how strongly each respective player is considering the Wolverines at this point in time. Each category is rated on a scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high).

5 - Interest couldn't be any stronger
4 - Very strong interest. Only a matter of time before they're 5's
3 - Interested with the potential to move up with more familiarity and evaluation
2 - Limited interest
1 - Low interest
U - Unknown

The list is ordered first by Target Level and then sub-ordered by Interest level. These ratings can change from update to update, so keep an eye on them!

Does everything a point guard should. Gets into the lane with ease, has an improving jumper, is a very good defender, and handles the pill like he owns it. A pass first/shoot second FLOOR GENERAL. Extremely fast with or without the rock in his hands. Stood out as one of the top point guards at the Reebok ABCD camp.. Gets it done on the football field as well and doesn't back down from anyone on the court. Has a scholarship offer on the table fromall of the in-state MAC schools Xavier. San Diego State has also been in this fall. Regardin Michigan Grady said, "Scholarship wise… no, we haven't really talked about it. But I can tell that they have made it really obvious that they would really like me at their school. I am really interested in going there. It's just a matter of time with me getting stronger and working on my game. Hopefully the opportunity will open up for me." Grady was recently offered a football scholarship by Michigan State and was told he can play basketball as well. Michigan head man Tommy Amaker was in to see Grady the first week in January. His recruitment by the Wolverines picked up steam and he ended the process when he committed to the Maize and Blue Sunday January 29th. Grady will be on basketball scholarship and will play exclusively on the hardwood his first year, and then try his hand at football in the years after.

Harris is a combo guard that a flat out player. Whatever you need him to do, he can do. Not a flashy offensive player ,but will put up points in a number of ways. Has a good jumper and can slash. Also gets a number of points on putbacks and steals. Not afraid to do the dirty work and overcomes his extremely slender frame with a lot of heart. Will rebound and play stifling in-your face defense. He is just a plain winner. There was mostly MAC interest in him early on, but the high majors are now knocking at his door. UCLA has been keeping a close eye on him all year, Tennessee has offered and has been in to see him, and Wisconsin has offfered as well. Reportedly grew three inches over the summer. The Wolverines have been to a few of his games in recent weeks. Harris was an unofficial visitor for Michigan's home game versus Purdue on January 7th as well as the home game against Michigan State on January 25th. Michigan has been in to see him a few more times recently. There was frequent contact between Harris and Michigan during the months of March and April, at which time Harris moved to the top of the Wolverines priority list. Harris' interest in the Maize and Blue is strong, which he made vvery clear to the Michigan coaching staff when he called to reaffirm that interest in the wake of Alex Legion's decommitment. A few weeks later he and his father made a visit to Ann Arborto have a long meeting with the Michigan coaching staff that by all accounts went very well. In mid May he was back on campus again, having tagged along with Deshawn Sims for an open gym. He also made it in for several more during the month of June.

Scout.com scouting report:Different type of point guard prospect in that he's built for power but can really pass it. Scores most of his points off drives; will need to work on perimeter element. Strong and tough to push off the ball. Can be a very good defender as well. High-major prospect. When GoBlueWolverine watched him in action in Fort Wayne we saw just the kind of tough-as-nails - take-no-prisoners type of player that Amaker needs. Getting to the rack and finishing (even when there's contact) is what this big lead-guard does best, but he also sees the floor very well and he can do a good job of creating for others. Built like a football player, McCamey is very strong, surprisingly quick, and he can impose his will on an opponent as the game goes on. He thrives on being challenged which is why he loves to play against the best.Michigan has been in to see him play and he is considering the Wolverines. McCamey will visit Ann Arbor Friday June 30th with his mom.

From Scout.com "Terrence Oglesby, a 6-foot-1 combo guard out of Cleveland (Tenn.) Bradley, has turned in a strong spring. The Tennessee Travelers guard has made an impact on the AAU circuit with his right arm. Oglesby posseses one of the best strokes in his class. Its his range and accuracy that will attract the college coaches in bunches. During the Kingwood Classic, Oglesby said that Washington and Charlotte had offered him schollies. Miami, Georgetown, Penn State, Florida and Tennessee were keeping close tabs on him.” Oglesby made it to Ann Arbor for a visit in early June an d came away with the Wolverines near the top of his list. "When I first saw the M it was pretty intimidating,” recalled Oglesby. “Then I went over to the football stadium and went to the 50 yard line and saw it again. It looks different on TV. To see it in person…I enjoyed that.”One of the primary reasons for the visit was getting the opportunity to interact with the Michigan players. Oglesby learned a great deal about his prospective teammates during open gym and came away impressed with the talent on the Wolverines roster. “I had fun playing with the guys this weekend,” said Oglesby. “They are unbelievably athletic with big bodies. The games were very competitive and I like that because I am very competitive. I think I would feel very comfortable there”.Oglesby more than held his own during the informal competitions. The 6-3, 180-pounder is the type of player that cannot be left open because of deadly shooting ability. He frequently hit deep three’s with defenders coming at him… and he never even flinched. The Michigan coaching staff understands just how valuable that kind of long range marksmanship could be to their offense and that was made clear during a one on one session with Tommy Amaker. Oglesby particpated in the NBAPA top 100 camp in late June but was unable to find his mark most of the week. Also had trouble defending smaller quicker guards. Michigan will likely be watching him closely at the Nike All-American camp. Oglesby indicated that he could make at decision at that time and that he has a top two of Michigan and Clemson.

Darquavis Tucker WF

Dar is the best athlete in the state already and is one of the tops in the country regardless of class. An intense and fiery competitor, Dar is explosive in the open court and will try and smash on anyone! He is a finisher that is automatic when he gets the ball anywhere in the paint. He’s a good defender and is an excellent rebounder. He needs to improve his jumper, as he is more of a streak shooter at this point. He also must improve his off the dribble skills. The talented athlete improved this year in the classroom and reportedly took the test for the first time in June. The Wolverines had long been absent from his recruitment, but a recent visit thrust them back into the fray. "I took a little visit," Tucker said to GoBlueWolverine. "They had got in touch with (his high school coach) and scheduled a little meeting, so we went up there. It was just a little meeting with Coach Amaker to talk about how they wanted me and to find out if I was interested. I had narrowed things down to a top three, but I guess I'm going to put them in there now. I really didn't know they were interested, but they explained it all to me." The powerfully athletic 6-5 wing had recently announced Louisville, Miami, and Marquette as his three finalists. Michigan, meanwhile, had long been an afterthought in his recruitment. Neither party seemingly had much interest in the other. According to Tucker, though, that was just case of miscommunication. "When they saw lists of schools I named, they really didn't think I was interested in Michigan…and I felt like they weren't interested in me," he explained. "So it was like we both didn't know. So we had a meeting to talk about it. "Michigan's recent entrance in this recruitment may seem to put them at a disadvantage, but Tucker indicated that the Maize and Blue will be a factor regardless. "They have a good shot," Tucker said regarding Michigan's chances with him. "I really like how they play. (Coach Amaker) showed me some film, and I can see myself in there. It's close to home to, so they have a good shot." Had a strong NBA camp showing in late June where he displayed an improved mid-range game. Word has it that he may be prepared to trim down his list heading into July.

Scout.com scouting report: "He’s very good with the ball in his hands,” St. Thomas Aquinas coach Steve Strand said. “He can really score – whether it’s shooting or getting to the basket. He just needs to get a little stronger. His quickness is good, not great. But he’s athletic enough to defend. Offensively, he’s as good as it gets with the ball.” Listed Virginia Tech (offer), Wake Forest, Illinois and Michigan State as his early leaders. Michigan was in to see him Tuesday January 10th, and the talented guard prospect is interested. Kee visited Michigan for the Wisconsin game on January 28, 2006. He came out of the visit with Michigan as the frontrunner. "The choice for my unofficial visit came down to Michigan and Illinois," Kee said the Sunday after his trip to Ann Arbor. "When Coach Jack came down to see me he told me that they don't just fly down because they are interested in a plyer. They fly down because they want the player to come to Michigan. I talked to Coach Amaker while I was there and that really let me know how serious they were about me coming. Michigan has moved all the way up my list with this visit. Coach Amaker is so cool and he is really down to earth. It was just the way Coach Amaker laid it all down for me. He had a plan for me and he told me how he could see me in their offense." After a so-so start this spring, Kee has switched AAU teams and now plays for the Miami Tropics. That should help him raise his level of play. Michigan is still in the process of evaluating him.

Great ball skills for a player his size. Simon is also a very good passer and can log minutes at the point guard slot. Does his damage driving to the bucket, but has to improve his jumper. Being "chased" by a number of mid majors, though some of the bigger programs are keeping tabs. Has offers from Dayton, St Bonaventure, and Xavier. Michigan was in to see Simon in January and Simon is definitely interested. "Coach Amaker is a cool guy," Simon said. "He said he was impressed with my overall game and he told me different things that I do on the court that he likes and the things that I need to improve on. He said he would like for me to come up anytime I wanted and to see if my mom could come with me. He also said he was going to come to a couple of games. I'm definitely looking at Michigan. I've got both eyes on them." He has maintained coantact with Michigan, speaking with Coach Jackson about once every week or two.

The 6-5, 185-pounder is as versatile as they come. He is capable of playing the one, the two, and the three…and though he prefers playing on the wing, (which is his position while on the summer circuit); he runs the point for his high school team. His wide array of skills were on display at the AAU Nationals Florida this summer (when he drilled 4/5 three-pointers late in one game, then, with .6 seconds remaining he stole the ball and layed it in to seal the victory), and since he blew up at that event the attention he is garnering has increased at a steady pace. "Most of the Big Ten schools have been in contact," Jackson said. "The there have been a few Big East schools in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati, and Georgetown. In the ACC I've heard from Virginia Clemson, Florida State, and North Carolina." Jackson averaged 25 points, 11.7 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game Last year. He had 39 points in his team’s regional semifinal loss to Columbus Linden McKinley. Must get stronger and must continue to improve his jumper. Has already visited Ann Arbor a few times and Amaker was in to see him in November . Dayton and Xavier offered early, but the Wolverines joined the club in the fall and extended an offer as well. In a conversation before the season Jackson told GoBlueWolverine, "My mom loves Coach Amaker. I really think my mom would like to see me go to Michigan because always has such nice things to say about him. She just loves the guy. But again, she has said it’s my decision, and I’m going to do what’s best for me.” Now that the Wolverines have offered, are they the best fit? He previously mentioned the likelihood of a summer decsion, but it's possible that he could make his choice sooner. Visited Ann Arbor for Michigan's final home game versus Indiana on March 4th with his coach and athletic director. The academic presentation proved to be exceptional, thus improving the Wolverines standing in the eyes of Jackson and his supporters. Jackson's mother made it up to Ann Arbor for a visit on April 14th and reportedly enjoyed her time. Jackson, however, wants to take more visits and see what other schools are interested before making a decision. He is also exploring college football as an option. Participated in the Ohio State footbal camp.

GBW's top player in the state of Michigan for 07 class. He can do it all. Alex is a very skilled player that can give it to you a number of ways. He has solid handles, shoots it off the dribble very well, can shoot the three , rebounds well, is a very good passer, and has worked very hard to become a good defender. His midrange game and pull-up ability is extremely advanced. He has a very high basketball IQ. His national stock skyrocketed after big time AAU performances in the month of April and he is ranked the #8 player in his class by ScoutHoops.com. Had offers from practically every high-major in the country, but shocked many observers when he committed to Michigan in mid November. "I arrived at my decision right after the Penn State game," Legion said. "We had made a visit that weekend and I just really enjoyed the campus and the things they had available to me as a student. I figured why go somewhere else when everything. I want is right here at home. Plus the academics are second to none and it is close where my family to see me play. Then, I have a great relationship with Coach Amaker. He has shown me how I will fit into his program and how Michigan would help me as a person first and player second. I plan on talking to other players to let them know about what we can do to bring Michigan basketball back. I think the team will do well this year. Then when me and Deshawn get there, we are going to keep the ball rolling and try to do even better. I am the first in the 2007 class to commit and I will play a major role in helping to get more players to come to Michigan with me. I know it is all about hard work and I am looking forward to working hard to help the team." Backed out of his commitment to the Wolverines in early April because of uncertainty over his decision. He most likely will end up wearing the jersey of one of his other favorites; UCLA, Villanova, UCONN, or Kansas.

Laval Lucas-Perry PG/SG

Lucas-Perry is a deceptively quick guard that can put it on the floor and likes to drive to the basket. Hus perimeter game continues to come along and is knocking down the three with regularity. He does not get nervous in tight situations and will take the big shot if given the opportunity. From Scout.com: Lucas-Perry said that Michigan, Michigan State, Oakland, Marquette, Stanford and Georgia Tech were all showing interest prior to April. Now you can add Iowa, Wake Forest, Boston College, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Arizona to that list.``All of them see me as a combo guard,” he said. Lucas-Perry is a smart, instinctive guy who can play either spot. His shooting still needs to be more consistent from the perimeter, but he is able to keep defenders honest from long range and also finish at the rim because of his strength and size.``Coaches tell me I do everything pretty well,” he said. “I’m a rebounding guard who shoots it well, passes it and has floor leadership. I feel that I’m a pretty complete player.” Lucas-Perry said some coaches have drawn comparisons to NBA star guard Gilbert Arenas while other have mentioned he plays a little bit like Hall of Famer Joe Dumars. Lucas-Perry has had a very strong summer and the Wolverines have been keeping close tabs. He could move even further up the list as the summer progresses.

Antwaine Wiggins SF

From Scout.com: Antwaine Wiggins, a 6-foot-7, 170-pound junior at Greeneville High, has a wide variety of suitors.
Wiggins told Scout.com that he is receiving interest from Michigan, Miami, Illinois, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Creighton, Charlotte and Appalachian State.Wiggins is active and versatile. He can step out and shoot from the perimeter, gets on the offensive glass and also runs the court well. His biggest weakness right now is strength.Wiggins suits up for the Tennessee Travelers and averaged 22 points and 10 boards last season at Greeneville.

Considered by many to be the best all-around high school prospect since Lebron James. Currently rated the #1PG in the country by ScoutHoops.com but could also be ranked the #1 shooting guard or small forward if he were considered at those positions. Mayo doesn't possess James' freakish athleticism or size, but outside of that, his floor game is extremely comparable. Scout.com scouting report:Special guard prospect. Will be a big point guard. Terrific range and confidence. We are talking about an impact player with legit star power. Skilled on the perimeter and an excellent finisher. Will set guys up and has a tremendous feel to go with a pace about his game. Poise has been a big asset. One of the most unselfish stars in years. He passes the ball like an advanced player, shoots it deep and there's no way to stop him off the drive in high school. Big time competitor who consistently wins, meets challenges and sets the bar for kids in his class. The Wolverines took a more prominent role in the race for Mayo and his teammates back in the fall and have followed that up with subsequent visits to games. Still, the Maize and Blue's shot at this talented player is slim at best. Louisville, any program that ends up with Bob Huggins as coach, Indiana, and playing professionally for a year over in Europe are all distinct possibilities.

A man amongst boys at the high school level. The most explosive prep player in the country. Considered by ScoutHoops.com to be the #1 SF in his class. Scout.com scouting report:A tremendously strong wing player who can, at times, be physically intimidating. One of the games thunder dunkers. His dunks have changed games and swing momentum. Will need to steady his perimeter shot. Competes and won't give an inch. Yet to see anyone intimidate him. As for where Michigan stands in his recruitment, see the OJ Mayo synopsis. Chances are slim at this point, but the Wolverines will keep pursuing.

He’s a little bit of each and a lot of talent. He’s not a guy you’ve heard a lot about … yet. The 6-foot-1 guard is a multi-position guy.

Thornton can get it done off of the dribble with the pull up, or take it all of the way to the bucket. He also does a really good job of getting his teammates involved. Very good dribbling ability for his size. Needs to continue to really improve his range. Doubles as the school's varsity quarterback and brings a level of toughness to the floor. Doubled his scoring output last year on a very young team. Range was the biggest deficiency in his game heading into the year, but he has been extremely accurate from the outside this spring. If he continues to show that he can be consistent shooter from three-point land, he'll be a much more intriguing prospect.Visited Michigan for the UCLA game.

Scout.com scouting report:A talented young wing with a very nice stroke to the stripe. A young-looking junior, Viney is still filling out and could end up even more athletic than he is today. A good athlete, Viney has a very nice frame and a terrific stroke with good range. He moves well, but is still not completely grown into his body. Looks like he may still be growing. He needs to play with a little more sense of urgency, but he's got a chance to be an outstanding player. Among the top wing prospects in the west for 2007. "I'm still open and haven't really cut down my list yet," Viney told ScoutHoops.com. "But some of the schools I'm leaning to right now are Washington, Cal and Michigan. I'll start narrowing down my list though sometime after the season. Arizona is another school that has a prestigious program and I'm looking at them also." Viney is good friends with Mater Dei PG Kamyron Brown.

'My shooting and ballhandling used to be my weakness, but now it’s starting to come along. I was always bigger than everyone, so I was forced to play on the inside. But my brother came to me last year and told me I had to work on my perimeter skills and that’s what I’ve tried to do.' " Had offers from USC, Oregon State, Tulsa, UNLV, Mississippi, and Baylor and originally committed to Tim Floyd and the Trojans in May of 2005. He decided to re-open his recruitment in September and now plans to go to prep school for a year at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. The Wolverines have been keeping an eye on him this summer.

Dave Telep on Moore's Boo Williams tourney performance – "Having settled in at the shooting guard role, Moore looks very comfortable. All things considered, he might have the best day of any player we saw; at the very least he was the most consistent. In the 2 games we witnessed, his 3-point shot was falling on command and he’s always had a long frame to slash with.I think he made a move (at Boo Williams). If he can continue to play to the level he did at Boo Williams, the sky is the limit. He should easily be considered a top-100 talent if this keeps up. I was really impressed with how well he shot it from downtown,” Telep said. “He’s always been a prospect and now he’s taking steps to show improvement. He really helped himself.”
