, a talented 5-11, 190-pound cornerback from Macedonia, Ohio, made his way to Columbus for the Ohio State Nike Camp. After a strong showing in which the star ran an impressive 4.45 40-yard dash, Mabin hopes to hear more from the Michigan Wolverines along with others across the country.
With an offer list of Pitt, Indiana, Akron and Kent State, Jordan Mabin came to Nike Camp with the intention of turning heads. And, while it may be too soon to know whether or not his efforts will go rewarded, the 5-foot-11, 190-pounder did his best to put on a show.
After clocking an impressive 4.45 in the 40-yard dash, Mabin continued to demonstrate why he is one of the top cornerbacks in the country as he moved onto the one-on-one drills and put on an impressive performance for the coaches in attendance.
"It was a real good atmosphere. I thought I did well testing wise and I thought I did pretty well in the one-on-one drills as well.
"So far I have four offers from Pitt, Indiana, Akron and Kent State," Mabin told GoBlueWolverine Magazine following the camp. "They're definitely great schools. There have been a lot of schools to contact me. I've heard from a lot of schools from the Big 10, a lot of schools from the South, like Florida, and a lot of schools from the Big East."
With his options likely to open in the near future, Mabin is beginning to narrow down the criteria in which he will make his decision. "I need to find where I'll fit in the most," Mabin told GoBlueWolverine Magazine. "I need to look at depth charts to see where I fit in. I need to see how the schools are. I know all of these schools have great tradition, so I don't think that's something I need to worry about. I just need to find where I'm going to fit in the most."
One school that has been in contact with Mabin is the Michigan Wolverines. Despite not receiving an early offer from the Maize and Blue, the talented cornerback is not ready to give up hope that an offer will come.
"I've definitely been talking to Michigan. I've been talking to Coach Loeffler. He's a real nice guy. I definitely like Michigan a lot. They have a nice tradition and it looks like a good school."
However, the Macedonia star isn't ready to narrow things down. "I really don't have a top five," said Mabin. "I'm open right now. A lot of the schools have just now been contacting me, so I'm pretty open to anybody."
GoBlueWolverine Magazine will have more with Jordan Mabin in the coming weeks.
