Eugene Clifford has yet to garner the acclaim of some of the other elite prospects
in the country. That, however, does not mean the 6-2, 190-pound two-way star
isn't every bit as talented. Teams in Big Ten Country have already taken notice
of his immense skills and have made their way to Colerain in recent weeks to
check in on him.
"Miami of Ohio, Boston College, UC (Cincinnati), and Notre Dame have been
in," Clifford said. "That's about it so far. Ohio State hasn't been
by yet. They're supposed to be coming by next week I think. I think Michigan
is coming by next week too. I think they're coming by right after each other."
Sooner or later the word on Clifford will get out and more of the nation's
prominent programs will surely begin beating down his door. He's anxiously awaiting
contact from a few of them.
"I have offers from Michigan Michigan State, Ohio State, Boston College,
Illinois, Iowa, West Virginia, and UC," said Clifford. "I'd like to
hear from the Florida schools. Hopefully I will."
For the time being Clifford's focus is on the track where he participates in
all of the relays and the 200m. Recruiting will likely continue to take a backseat
until the summer when he makes his way to a few Midwest camps.
"I probably won't be going to any Nike Camps, but I will be going to the
Michigan camp and the Ohio State camp," said Clifford. I think I'm going
to go to Miami of Ohio for a day too. My decision will come most likely after
my season. I think I'll take all five official visits. "
GoBlueWolverine will have more on Clifford in the coming weeks.
