Everyone knows that Tom Herzog is a seven-footer that specializes in shot blocking,
but he continues to add more to his game. He runs the floor extremely well,
and as he gets stronger and gains more confidence, is starting to establish
himself more in the low post. He already has a nice hook shot and can square
up to shoot the 15-footer. The real key for this youngster is continuing to
improve his size and strength (greatly).
It seems like you are starting to play well here at the Reebok ABCD
camp?
"Today I had a really good day. I think earlier I was a little screwed
up mentally because I wasn't getting any touches. Today I came out and got 8
points on offensive rebounds and if that is what I got to do to score then that
is what I am going to do."
It seems like your teammates are getting use to you a little more. You
appear to be more comfortable.
"Yeah I think the first day for our first practice, I really had a bad
practice. It was a travel day and I never play well on travel days. So I think
a lot of people got the wrong impression of me. I am playing better and my teammates
are starting to become more comfortable with me."
I notice many in the crowd are commenting on your shot blocking. How
do you think that is going?
"That's pretty good. I feel I can block every shot. I mean there are a
lot of good players here, but it doesn't matter because I am still going for
every block."
How is the recruiting going and when will a decision be made?
"I am going to wait until the school year so I can take a few more visits.
Then I can figure everything out, compare some things, and make a decision.
It is between Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Illinois."
