GoBlueWolverine.com spoke with Downingstown, Pa., quarterback Pat Devlin, who confirmed he had recently received a scholarship offer from Michigan. He also talked about when he'll visit Michigan, and where the Wolverines stand now that they've offered.
The top quarterback, and the No. 35 player overall, in the recently released Scout.com East Region Hot 100,
Pat Devlin
of East High School in Downingstown, Pa., reports 23 offers. The latest in the first part of June. "I spoke with (Michigan) head coach Lloyd Carr on June 8, and he told me I had an offer to play for Michigan," Devlin said. "I'll be heading up to there during their camp next week. I'm not sure I'll participate. It will be my first trip to Michigan."
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Devlin said nobody leads, and that he hasn't really settled on a top list at this time. He recently visited Miami. "I was down there for four or five days," he said. "It was a good trip, though it rained for a little while. I got to talk with the coaches and some of the team."
Devlin has stated that he would like to make a decision before the start of his senior season. That is still the case, and he said he will narrow down his list in the next month. Is there a chance he may decide to end it during his trip to Ann Arbor? "No, I doubt it," he said. "I do want to check out the campus, and I have a good relationship with (Michigan quarterbacks coach) Scot Loeffler, but I am not ready to decide."
For the summer, Devlin said he plans on playing in some passing league tournaments. During the spring he visited Penn State, Virginia, Pittsburgh and Maryland for their Junior Days.
