GoBlueWolverine has confirmed first-hand that the Giants have hired Michigan Assistant Bill Sheridan as linebackers coach.

Coach Sheridan interviewed for the Giants job just yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon, and was offered the job -- and accepted it -- this morning.

Bill Sheridan has been an assistant coach at Michigan for the past three years, coaching the defensive line and for his first two seasons also acting as recruiting coordinator. A graduate of Grand Valley State in Grand Rapids, Mich., Sheridan came to Michigan from the Notre Dame staff and has also been an assistant on the Michigan State staff.

Ed. note: GoBlueWolverine wishes Coach Sheridan all the best ... don't be surprised to see him back in the college ranks some day as a head coach.
