Michigan offensive line commitment
Cory Zirbel
took an official visit to Kentucky this weekend. He returned and told GoBlueWolverine Magazine he is still a Wolverine, and talked about the rest of the year.
6-foot-7, 292-pound offensive lineman and Michigan commitment
Cory Zirbel
from Murray, Ky., High School took his fourth official visit this weekend, to the home-state school. "I went to Kentucky this weekend," he said. "I had no intentions of committing, but I told them I would visit so I wanted to keep my word."
Zirbel tripped with teammate
Tim Masthay
, already a Kentucky commit, and said they both had a good time. So, what is in the future for the four-star talent? "I'm playing basketball right now, I play center," he said. "We're not very good. I'm not taking any more visits." Zirbel visited Michigan on Dec. 10. He also visited Miami (Fl) on Dec. 12; Virginia Tech on Nov. 26; and Oklahoma on Oct. 2.
The big Kentucky lineman wasn't invited to play in this weekend's U.S. Army All-American Bowl game in San Antonio, Texas. He said he has been invited to play in several all-star games, but isn't sure which, if any, he'll attend. "They are all in the summer," he said. "I'm not sure when I'll report (to Michigan), either June or July. It all depends on that."
Michigan is looking to make score a triple-crown of four-stars from Kentucky. With two bluegrass studs already in the fold with Zirbel and linebacker
Brandon Logan
from Catholic High School in Lexington, the Wolverines are waiting on the decision of Louisville Central star
James McKinney
, who is part of the U.S. Army game. We will have exclusive practice reports and photos all week long, and coverage of the game itself on Saturday. Stay with GBW for all the latest.
