The GoBlueWolverine Hour will hit the airwaves in yet another market this weekend. Flint's AM 1330 is the latest to join the station line-up. We'll be discussing a number of things including the news from yesterday regarding Wolverines Braylon Edwards, David Baas, and Daniel Horton. Check inside for more, including news on a special guest for this weekend's show.

Football

Michigan senior wide receiver Braylon Edwards took home the Biletnikoff Award at last night's ESPN College Football Awards show held at the Atlantic Dance Hall on Disney's Boardwalk. His school record 87 receptions and 1221 yards this season helped him beat out Purdue's Taylor Stubblefield and Ball State's Dante Ridgeway for the honor as college football's top pass-catcher.

Joining Edwards as honorees at the awards show were senior center/co-captain David Baas (who was a co-recipient of the Rimington Award as the nation's top center with LSU's Ben Wilkerson early yesterday), senior strong safety Ernest Shazor, and senior cornerback Marlin Jackson. Baas and Shazor, who were beaten out at the ceremony for the Outland and Thorpe awards respectively, each joined Edwards on the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America first team. Jackson was named to the second team.

Basketball

As we reported yesterday, Michigan junior point guard Daniel Horton will miss at least four weeks with a left knee sprain. UM team physician James E. Carpenter said rest and rehab would be necessary for the Cedar Spring native's recovery, but NOT surgery. "Based on evaluations, it has been determined that Daniel Horton has a partial ligament sprain and associated swelling in the knee," Carpenter said. "We anticipate that this ligament will heal, and his swelling will resolve over the course of the next few weeks. I anticipate that he will not be released for full activity for approximately one month."

While Horton's four-week absence is bad news for the short term, it could have been much worse. Michigan coach Tommy Amaker indicated that he would do what is necessary to make sure his floor general's recovery goes as planned. "We are very fortunate to have the caliber of medical professionals available to us that we have here at Michigan," said Amaker. "We will obviously follow their guidance and advice as Daniel rehabilitates his knee."

The Wolverines hit the Crisler Arena hardwood again Saturday at noon to take on South Florida.

Radio Show

We will be discussing both the aforementioned topics and much much more on Sunday's GoBlueWolverine hour from 9-10 AM. Stan Edwards, who called into the show last week, is scheduled to return in a more official capacity to discuss his son winning the Biletnikoff, as well as many of the other topics he touched on last time. Be sure to call in at 734-998-1050!

Stan's appearance goes hand and hand with the debut of the GoBlueWolverine Hour on AM 1330 WTRX in Flint (servicing the Tri-Cities area). We can now be heard on four stations throughout the state (for the full list of affiliates, click here.) and we will continue to upload the show on Tuesday evenings/Wednesday mornings for those outside of the listening area.
