A number of Michigan's top basketball targets will be in action at the NBA Players Association Top 100 High school Camp. GBW made the trek to Richmond, Virginia and will be bringing you full coverage!

The Siegel Center on the downtown campus of Virginia Commonwealth University is the setting this annual elite prospect camp. The players are hand picked by legendary prep scout Bob Gibbons and is run by former Michigan standout Tim McCormick. Amongst the Wolverine targets scheduled to attend are commitment Jerret Smith, Canada's Jevohn Shepherd and Ryan Wright, Delaware center Eric Boateng, and New Jersey forward Brandon Costner. The are also multiple class of 06 targets scheduled to attend as well. Darryl (D.J.) Augustine, Daequan Cook, Alex Stepheson, and Tom Herzog are just a few names we're expecting to see. We will be profiling those or more prospects throughout the camp.

The highlight of he six day instructional session/competition is the hoop tournament that these young ballers compete in. There are a number of intriguing games scheduled for today. One contest pits Jerret Smith against Darryl Augustine, while another sees Eric Boateng square off against a young man that most consider the best big man in the country (regardless of class) in Indianapolis' Greg Oden. That's only a sampling of what's on tap, as the exciting match-ups are almost too numerous to mention. Rest assured that we'll be recapping all of them.

One of the squads we'll be paying special attention to is Team 6, a.k.a. The Nuggets. The backcourt consists of Jerret Smith and Jevohn Shepherd. Could this be a sign of things to come? (For those that missed the most recent update on Jevohn where he mentions visiting Michigan, click here.)

This marks the seventh stop on our summer basketball coverage schedule. (The other events we ventured out to see were The Charlie Weber Capitol Invitational, The Jordan Capital Classic, The Rumble In The T-Dot, The Spiece Run-N-Slam tourney, The State of Michigan AAU 16U Div II semi-finals, and The Summer League Games at Livonia Franklin.) There will now be a Summer Event Coverage link on the left NAV bar under scouting reports. There will also be a link to our Open Gym Recaps posted under Men's Basketball in the Scout Database section.
