Jaison Williams Makes His Decision!
The announcement for the Ducks is a bit of a surprise. Williams had listed Michigan as his top school throughout most of his recruiting but the lure of what Oregon had to offer was too much to resist. "I want to be a shoe designer for Nike," Williams said. "What better place to get into that than at Oregon, where I can get a sports marketing degree and where Nike has its headquarters."
Williams only other visit this year was to Michigan, and he said while the people and the atmosphere at Michigan Stadium was great, the Oregon fans were better. "They just really love their team through thick and thin," he said. "I mean you can tell they do at Michgian too, but at Oregon is was something else, it was a lot of fun, that's the kind of environment I want to be in."
Williams said that while the weather in Eugene was cold, "It wasn't as cold as Michigan. They have a nice stadium and they've added some nice features to it."
The big guy also said he was impressed with the way Oregon used its receivers. He said they were very much involved in the passing game and had some great quarterbacks. "I'm 100 percent sure that's what I want to do," Williams said. "I'm not even going to take any more visits."
Playing time was a factor in his decision. "They have a couple receivers leaving and one receiver is moving to linebacker," he said. "They have one junior and one sophomore so I'll fit in real well."
He said he would call coach English to break the news Tuesday morning.
