Kirkland has the ability to contribute in a number of ways. His size,
6-8, gives him the presence of a big man. He has the skills—shooting,
passing, ball-handling—to make an impact on the perimeter. Kirkland
saw action in both roles in the Cincinnati attack. Became the backup for
the small forward position and saw action at the power forward spot when
the team went to a quicker lineup. Finished his freshman season strong,
averaging 10.3 points over his final four games. He is a great passer
who averaged nearly seven assists as a senior in high school. Was rated
as the No. 99 high school prospect and the No. 22-rated small forward
by ESPN.com
