Cameron Ordway Looking to Visit Michigan

2015 Pulaski (Tenn.) Giles County four-star cornerback Cameron Ordway discusses Michigan, the possibility of a visit to Ann Arbor, and more.

Reeling in a Michigan offer this spring, 2015 Pulaski (Tenn.) Giles County four-star cornerback Cameron Ordway continues to educate himself on the Wolverines.

In regular contact with assistant and Michigan safeties coach Curt Mallory, Ordway is curious enough about the program that he plans to get to Ann Arbor in the near future.

“I really don’t know much about them, I can’t lie,” Ordway said. “But I want to get up there and tour the campus and see what they have to offer.”

Ordway plans to do a bit of a visit tour in July though no dates have officially been set up so far.

“Well I have a bunch of 7 on 7 coming up with my high school after the dead period,” Ordway said. “But I’m not sure what ones I’m going to take yet.

“I know I’m going to take a bunch before the season but once the season gets here I’ll probably just take three officials, maybe four officials and that’ll be it.”

A considerable drive from the state of Michigan, Ordway says he could utilize one of his five official visits to get to Ann Arbor this fall.

“I’m pretty sure I’ll take one or two officials up north,” Ordway said. “I’m not sure where yet but it’ll probably be there. I’m just not sure yet.”

Commanding offers from all regions of the country, Ordway adds distance from home won’t matter in his decision.

“It doesn’t,” Ordway said. “If the program has a lot to offer and I feel at home wherever I go then that’s where I land.”

With depth chart and a strong relationship with the coaching staff playing a major role in Ordway’s recruiting process, Mallory and Michigan continue to play to their strengths in their frequent phone conversations.

“Just the tradition of the school,” Ordway said. “And the history of players that have played there as defensive backs and stuff like that.”

Ordway took visits to Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn over the last few months with Florida State and LSU among those being considered in July.
