Bloomfield Hills (Mich.) Brother Rice quarterback Alex Malzone was scintillating during an important throwing session a few weeks back. While all of his throwing sessions could certainly have been classified as important, the one with Michigan offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier in attendance was especially so. That’s because the talented youngster had always dreamed of donning the winged helmet. That throwing session proved to be the final piece of a three month evaluation by the Wolverines’ new quarterback guru.
Malzone was offered the opportunity to fulfill his dream during a campus visit this morning and promptly accepted.
"I'm very honored and blessed to say that I have committed to play football at the University of Michigan," tweeted Malzone.
Stay tuned for more on this breaking news in the hours to come. In the meantime below are junior season highlights of Malzone during which he led his team to its third consecutive state championship.
