Crimson Tide Offer Wheatley Jr.

Alabama the latest offer for Fayetteville Manlius (NY) class of 2015 defensive end-tight end Tyrone Wheatley Jr. Will he make his way to Tuscaloosa soon?

Alabama became the newest offer for sophomore Tyrone Wheatley Jr. today, joining Michigan, Syracuse and Penn State on the list for the 6'6, 240-lb defensive end and tight end.

"It feels amazing to know that all my hard work is paying off," he explained. "When I talked to coach Saban and Coach Williams, I was thrilled when they told me I had an offer from The University of Alabama. I didn't know what to say, I was just so happy."

The offer not only let him know that the hard work he put in to this point has paid off, but that he needs to continue to move towards the future.

"Alabama is one of the top national championship contenders every year and they have had a lot of success in their program in the past, so for them to want me to come there feels great, but I still have to work hard and perform as best I can my junior and senior years, and I'm still open to any schools. It's early, so I have a lot of time"

Visiting the Tide along with some of the other programs who have offered is a priority for Wheatley.

"I'm going to try to go down to Alabama's spring game on the 20th. I'm going to Michigan on the 13th for their spring game and I'm going to try to go down to one of Penn State's practices sometime next week."
