U-M Inks Cinci Deal for Football, Hoops

The Wolverines and Bearcats will meet on the football field during the 2017 season and twice on the basketball court between the 2015-16 and 2018-19 seasons.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan director of athletics Dave Brandon announced today (Wednesday, March 27) a football and men's basketball scheduling agreement with the University of Cincinnati. The Wolverines and Bearcats will meet on the football field during the 2017 season and twice on the basketball court between the 2015-16 and 2018-19 seasons.

"Ohio is a state that all our sports programs recruit heavily, and the Cincinnati area has been terrific recruiting territory for Michigan Athletics through the years," said Brandon, the Donald R. Shepherd Director Athletics. "We are excited to host the Bearcats and their fans at Michigan Stadium and Crisler Center in the coming years and look forward to making a visit to Cincinnati for basketball."

Cincinnati will travel to Ann Arbor for a Sept. 9, 2017, matchup with Michigan at the Big House. The dates and locations of the home-and-home basketball series have not been determined.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Bearcats and Wolverines in football, while the two schools have met in men's basketball four times previously but never in Ann Arbor.
