Ohio QB Hears From The Champs

Alabama has reached into Ohio in the past to land linebacker Trey DePriest, and head coach Nick Saban is back recruiting the state again. Toledo Central Catholic quarterback DeShone Kizer is the latest from the Buckeye state to land an Alabama offer.

It appears Nick Saban is becoming enamored with recruiting a state he is quite familiar with, as Alabama has issued their fourth offer to an Ohioan.

Following on the heels of Crimson Tide extending offers to Cleveland Glenville's Erick Smith, Marcelys Jones and Marshon Lattimore, Alabama has now offered Toledo Central Catholic quarterback DeShone Kizer.

"I'm very excited and humbled to say I was offered by the University of Alabama this morning by Coach (Nick) Saban," Kizer said in a text message.

Kizer, 6-foot-5, 200-pounds, is one of the top 2014 prospects in Ohio. A dual-threat quarterback, he is coming off a sparkling junior season in which he led Toledo Central Catholic to the Ohio Division-II state title.

Alabama is the second SEC team to offer Kizer in the past week, coming on the heels of LSU who offered last Thursday.

Kizer also holds offers from the likes of Arkansas, Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan State, Penn State, Tennessee, and others.
