Ohio TE Lands Kentucky Offer

Westerville South tight end Darryl Long is on a recruiting roll right now, and he has added BCS offers lately. A weekend trip to Kentucky landed his latest offer.

Darryl Long is one of the top tight end prospects in Ohio, and the Westerville South product is blowing up on the recruiting front.

Long, 6-foot-5, 235-pounds, visited Kentucky this weekend and not only enjoyed his visit, but left Lexington with an offer.

"I really had a great time at Kentucky and they did offer me a scholarship," Long stated. "They told me what they're trying to do with the program, and how I fit in academically and athletically. They took me in to see Coach (Mark) Stoops and he offered me the scholarship."

"You can see how they are turning things around at Kentucky, and I really liked the staff," he added. "They really finished strong in recruiting last year, and they were only there for six weeks. I really liked Coach (Vince) Marrow a lot, and I could see myself playing for him. Kentucky definitely is very high on my list right now, and I couldn't have been more impressed."

With nearly double-digit offers to his credit, Long has hot the recruiting radar in a big way.

"I would like to make my decision before my senior season, but I'm not sure about that," he explained. "I sill have visits coming up to Indiana, Louisville and Michigan State in the next few weeks."

Long also holds offers from Louisville, Illinois, Indiana, Pittsburgh, and others.
