Grand Rapids Christian junior wide receiver Drake Harris is one of a handful of players that is in contention for the top spot in the Midwest in the 2014 class.
A Michigan State commitment, the 6'3, 180-lb Harris recently said he was willing to listen to other schools now that he has decided to only play football in college. Since then, a number of schools have made contact. Ohio State offered, Michigan stopped by, and this week, the Buckeyes stopped in again along with Alabama, who extended an offer as well.
"It's awesome," he said. "I'm really excited about the offer, because it is Alabama and they have been the top football program in college football for like the past four years."
Harris has named a handful of schools he would like to visit, with the Crimson Tide being one of them, but no visits have been set just yet.
For right now, he is concentrating basketball season and feeling grateful for the football options which seem to be arriving every day.
"Yeah I'm just really happy about it and feel real blessed about everything that is happening for me."
Harris lead Christian to a state title last season, catching 91 passes and 23 touchdowns in the process.
