Godwin turned heads in St. Petersburg

Many of the top performers at the 2013 Under Armour National Combine were from the south, but Chris Godwin was one that was not from that part of the country.

Chris Godwin stood out to Scout from the minute he started testing at the 2013 Under Armour National Combine. After checking in at just under 6-feet, 2-inches tall and 197 pounds, he ran the 40 yard dash in 4.48 seconds.

He went on to have one of the top standing broad jumps at 9-feet, 9-inches, and he ran the short shuttle in 4.31 seconds.

From there, he made plays at wide receiver to emerge as one of the best at the event.

Scout liked his strong hands, his burst out of his cuts, and his strength to get off the line of scrimmage against press coverage.

Schools across the country like him like Scout does.

"I have eight offers right now. Stanford, Connecticut, Penn State, Delaware, Rutgers, Boston College, North Carolina State, and Massachusetts have offered me," Godwin told Scout.

He is hearing from plenty of other schools too, including Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.

The talented junior wide receiver out of Middletown High School had 900 yards receiving on 42 receptions and 12 touchdowns in 2012.

Godwin does now have any favorites yet and he does not have any visits scheduled in 2013 yet.

Scout currently ranks him as the No. 26 receiver in the 2014 class making him a four-star prospect.
