Johnson Visits MSU

Cretin-Derham Hall (Minn.) junior quarterback Ricardo Johnson visited Michigan State recently and is heading to Stanford and Wisconsin next.

Michigan State recently hosted Cretin-Derham Hall junior quarterback Ricardo Johnson, and he returned home with a glowing review of East Lansing.

"It was great. It was one of the best experiences I ever had," he explained. "Being able to go with my dad, sit in the stadium, saw the facilities, and I got to see the 'go green, go white' chants that shake the stadium, and it was a great experience."

The visit also allowed Johnson to connect with the Spartan coaches.

"I spoke mainly to Coach Salem, the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator and he made me feel like a priority. They basically said they want to see some more varsity film, and then they'll take a serious look into offering me."

The visits will not stop there, as Johnson has several more trips on the calendar.

"I'm going to Oregon-Stanford game at Oregon next month, and then I'll be at the Wisconsin-Minnesota game this month as a guest of Wisconsin."

Those two schools are two of the programs who continue to send mail and recruit Johnson.

"Every day, I get letters from schools. Oregon, and Michigan State are consistent, and I get some from Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, also Stanford, and that's it."
